How to cancel a Jobber subscription without getting charged twice

Short answer: how you cancel Jobber depends on how you pay. Monthly with no commitment ends at the close of the billing period. A 12-month commitment keeps billing until the term ends. A prepaid annual plan is non-refundable. Every plan auto-renews unless you switch renewal off, so find your term end date first.

Owners also report charges after a cancellation, so keep screenshots of every confirmation screen.

What are shop owners saying about Jobber billing?

Trustpilot reviews of Jobber from mid-2026 show three recurring themes: billing after cancelling, prices that keep climbing, and data that is hard to leave behind. These are owner reports, not findings about Jobber, and Trustpilot says it does not fact-check reviews.

Trustpilot does not say which trade the reviewers work in, and we cannot confirm any of these claims. We cite them because the same three themes appear in BBB complaints about ServiceTitan. Our ServiceTitan cancellation guide covers the same pattern with BBB complaints.

Why does a cancelled subscription still bill you?

Usually because "cancel" means different things on different plans. Jobber's pricing page describes three ways to pay, and each ends differently:

How you payWhat cancelling doesRefund
Monthly, no commitmentEnds at the close of the current billing period; no further chargeNot for the current period
Monthly, 12-month commitmentAccess and billing continue until the term endsNo
Annual, prepaidAccess continues to the end of the yearInitial payment non-refundable

Source: Jobber pricing page, read Nov 2, 2026. All plans renew automatically at the end of the term unless set to non-renew, per Jobber's terms as summarized there. Three mechanics cause most of the surprises owners describe:

  1. Auto-renewal. Miss the window and you are in another term.
  2. Cancel versus stop billing. Cancelling a commitment plan stops the renewal, not the remaining months.
  3. Card on file. A removed card is not a cancellation. If the account is still open, a retry can go through.

How do you cancel Jobber this week?

Work through these in order. The export comes before the cancellation, because owners report losing access quickly after an account closes.

  1. Find your plan type. Open the billing page and write down: plan name, users, monthly or annual, commitment length, next charge date.
  2. Export first. Download clients, properties, jobs, quotes, invoices and payments as files. Open each file once to confirm it is complete.
  3. Count remaining months. On a 12-month commitment, multiply the monthly price by the months left. That is what you will pay whether or not you cancel today.
  4. Switch off renewal. Do it before the term end date, and set a calendar reminder 30 days earlier.
  5. Screenshot the confirmation and save the confirmation email. Ask support to confirm in writing that no further charge will be made.
  6. Remove the card only after the written confirmation arrives, not as a substitute for it.
  7. Check your bank statement for the next two cycles. If a charge appears, dispute it with your card issuer and send support your screenshots.

How much does cancelling mid-term cost? A worked example

Example, not a real shop. A 10-user electrical shop on Jobber Grow pays, by plan type, these monthly prices on the pricing page read Nov 2, 2026:

Plan typePer monthPer year
No commitment$399$4,788
12-month commitment$349$4,188
Annual, prepaid$299$3,588

Say the owner is on the 12-month commitment and decides in month 7 to leave. Five months remain: 5 x $349 = $1,745 still owed. The prepaid plan has nothing to refund. The no-commitment plan costs $1,200 more a year than the prepaid one but has no exit cost, so its real price is flexibility.

Add-on users are $29 a month each on every plan, so 4 more office or field users add $116 a month, or $1,392 a year. Jobber lists teams above 15 users as contact sales, so there is no public price to compare past that size.

Is the price of Jobber going up?

A price tracker says so, with caveats. CostBench recorded Jobber Core rising from $39 to $49 a month and Connect from $119 to $139 on Jul 2, 2026 (CostBench snapshots, which it says can include plan renames). A 10-user shop on the Grow tier would not feel that directly, but it shows list prices moving up within a year, and a renewal quote is the time to find out what yours does. Ask for your renewal price in writing 60 days before the term ends.

That is the point of the Aug 25, 2026 review above: when your customers, jobs and history live in a tool, a price rise costs less than leaving, so the vendor can raise it. Our ServiceTitan pricing guide works through the same math at larger shop sizes.

When does owning the software pay, and when does renting win?

Renting wins for a small shop. Jobber's own annual price for one user is $29 a month, $348 a year. No rebuild pays for itself against that.

It changes with headcount and with how many tools you rent. CNL rebuilds the tools shops rent as one system the shop owns: code in the shop's GitHub, data in the shop's own cloud account. A single tool starts at $6,000 once plus $290 a month, with hosting around $150 a month at cost. There are no per-user fees, the monthly fee is locked for 24 months, and there is a 30-day exit. CNL only starts a job when the audit shows it paying for itself within 12 months of going live.

For comparison, the 10-user example above pays $4,188 a year for the field tool alone. Owning pays only when the shop rents several tools, or has many users, or has already been hit by a renewal rise. The free audit gives a line-by-line rebuild plan, a fixed fee and the payback month within five business days, and it says when staying on Jobber is the cheaper answer. We do not rebuild email, accounting ledgers or payroll.

Questions owners ask

Can I cancel Jobber at any time?

On a monthly no-commitment plan, yes: the subscription ends at the close of the billing period. On a 12-month commitment or an annual plan, you keep access and billing until the term ends.

Does Jobber refund annual plans?

Jobber's pricing page says the initial payment on a prepaid annual plan is non-refundable and that access continues until the term ends. Check your own terms before relying on this.

Will I lose my data when I cancel Jobber?

Owners report losing access soon after an account closes. Export clients, jobs, quotes and invoices before you cancel and keep two copies outside the tool.

What if I was charged after cancelling?

Send support your cancellation confirmation and bank statement line, then ask your card issuer to dispute the charge. Do both in writing and keep dates.

Does Jobber charge per user?

Yes. Plans include a set number of users, and extra users are $29 a month each, per the pricing page read Nov 2, 2026. Above 15 users there is no published price.
