Podium alternatives: cancel the contract, keep the reviews and the texting

Podium costs a home service shop about $399 to $599 a month, on terms owners report renew for 12 months at a time. Here is what it costs, how to leave it cleanly, and when owning the same features beats renting them.

Short answer: the cheapest way out of Podium is the renewal date. Find it in your agreement, give written notice before it, and export your contacts and conversations first. Your Google reviews stay on Google. On its own, Podium is rarely worth rebuilding: at $399 a month it costs less than running a replacement. It pays to replace Podium when it is one line of a larger bill, such as a ServiceTitan shop paying $8,000 a month across tools.

What Podium costs

Podium's pricing page says to talk to sales. Third-party price tracking puts it at:

What owners report

An owner asked to leave and was sent an early-termination buyout of $22,094.40.

Owners describe contracts that renewed for another 12 months before they noticed.

How to cancel Podium without paying a buyout

  1. Find your term end and notice deadline. Ask your account manager for a copy of your signed agreement and write down the renewal date and how much notice it needs.
  2. Export before you give notice. Download your contact list, conversation history and any payment records while your login works.
  3. Sort out your texting number. If customers text a number Podium set up, ask in writing how to port it out before your cancel date.
  4. Have the replacement live first. Review requests, the text inbox and website chat should run on the new system before the term ends.
  5. Send written notice and keep the reply. Say you will not renew, name the term end date and ask for written confirmation.

Your reviews live on Google and Facebook, not in Podium. Cancelling does not delete them.

Three ways to replace Podium, priced over 3 years

PathA month3 yearsWhat you get
Keep Podium Core$399$14,364Reviews, text inbox, webchat, text-to-pay; contract renews
Own a Podium replacement alone (CNL One tool)$440$21,840The same features, yours, but it costs more. Keep renting.
Rent: 20-tech shop on ServiceTitan, Podium, CallRail, DocuSign, Zapier$8,188$294,768Five vendors, five contracts, per-tech fees
Own: the same 20-tech stack as one system (CNL Whole stack)$1,140$71,040One system in your cloud account, no per-tech fees, 30-day exit

Owned rows: CNL fee once ($6,000 or $30,000) plus the flat run fee ($290 or $990) and about $150 a month of hosting at cost, held flat for 36 months. The 20-tech stack is an example, not a client result: ServiceTitan at an estimated $374 a tech and Podium Core at $399 (both third-party estimates), CallRail $150, DocuSign 2 users at $45, Zapier $69. Payback on the 20-tech stack: 5 months.

Rule of thumb: owning pays back within 12 months when the bills it replaces add up to at least $940 a month for one tool, $2,240 a month for two to four tools, or $3,640 a month for five or more.

Questions owners ask

How do I cancel my Podium subscription?

Give written notice to your account team before the renewal date in your agreement, and ask for written confirmation. Owners report 12-month auto-renewals, so check the notice deadline first and export your contacts and conversations before you send it.

Does Podium charge an early termination fee?

Podium does not publish one. One owner reported a buyout demand of $22,094.40 to the BBB in October 2026. Your agreement decides what you owe, and leaving at the renewal date usually costs nothing extra.

How much does Podium cost a month?

Podium does not publish prices. CostBench lists Core at $399 a month and Pro at $599 a month, with Signature priced on request.

What happens to my Google reviews if I cancel Podium?

Nothing. Podium sends review requests, but the reviews are posted to Google and Facebook and stay there after you cancel.

Is Podium worth it for an HVAC or plumbing company?

If review requests and texting are the main thing you pay for, Podium at $399 a month is cheaper than building your own. Replacing it pays when it sits on top of a large per-tech bill such as ServiceTitan, where one owned system can replace several subscriptions at once.
