FieldEdge alternatives: price your contract, then decide to stay or leave
FieldEdge does not publish its prices, so most owners only learn what leaving costs when they try. Here is how to read your contract, how to cancel cleanly, and the monthly bill at which owning your software beats renting it.
- Not publishedFieldEdge prices its Select, Premier and Elite plans on request only
- $940a month: the bill above which owning one tool pays back within 12 months
- Yearlyauto-renewal one owner says they did not know about (Trustpilot)
Short answer: FieldEdge sells Select, Premier and Elite plans on quote, so your order form is the only place your price and renewal terms are written down. Read it first, give written notice before the renewal date, and export your data while your login works. Owning your software pays back within a year once the bills it replaces pass about $940 a month for one tool.
What FieldEdge costs
FieldEdge's pricing page lists three plans and a "Request Pricing" button, with no figures. To know your real cost, add up the last three invoices:
- The monthly or yearly subscription line
- Per-user or per-technician charges, if your plan has them
- Add-ons and integrations you pay for separately
- Payment processing fees, which are billed apart from software
That total is the number to compare against every alternative below. The free audit does this line by line for you.
What owners report
An owner says support tickets went unanswered, and a request to cancel was refused unless the rest of the contract was paid.
Trustpilot review, April 6, 2026 (paraphrased)Another owner says the contract renewed for a year automatically, and they had not known it would.
Trustpilot review, February 23, 2024 (paraphrased)Owner reports, not FieldEdge terms. Your agreement decides what you owe.
How to cancel FieldEdge without paying out the term
- Get your signed agreement. Ask your account manager for a copy and write down the term end date, the notice period and any early-termination clause.
- Put the notice deadline in your calendar. One owner reports a yearly auto-renewal, so missing it by a day can mean another full year.
- Export before you give notice. Customers and locations, job history, invoices and payments, the pricebook, service agreements and equipment records. Open each file once to check it is complete.
- Have the replacement live first. Run both systems side by side for two weeks before the term ends.
- Send written notice and keep the reply. Say you will not renew, name the term end date and ask for written confirmation and how long your data stays available.
When owning beats renting: the break-even bill
Because FieldEdge has no public price, here is the test in reverse. Owning pays back within 12 months when the monthly bills it replaces are at least:
| What you replace | CNL fee once | Own, a month | Pays back in 12 months if you pay |
|---|---|---|---|
| FieldEdge alone (One tool) | $6,000 | $440 | $940+ a month |
| FieldEdge plus 1 to 3 other tools (Core stack) | $18,000 | $740 | $2,240+ a month |
| Five tools or more (Whole stack) | $30,000 | $1,140 | $3,640+ a month |
Own a month: the flat CNL run fee ($290, $590 or $990) plus about $150 of hosting billed at cost by your cloud provider, with no per-tech fees. Break-even: run cost plus one twelfth of the CNL fee. Below these bills, keep renting.
The other alternatives are rented platforms with published prices: Housecall Pro from $299 a month for 8 users, Jobber $399 a month for up to 15 users, and Service Fusion $533 a month with unlimited users (all billed yearly). See our field service software comparison.

How much does FieldEdge cost per month?
FieldEdge does not publish prices. Its Select, Premier and Elite plans are quoted by sales. Your order form and recent invoices are the only reliable source for what you pay.
How do I cancel my FieldEdge contract?
Send written notice to your account manager before the renewal date in your agreement, say you will not renew, and ask for written confirmation. Export your data first.
Can I get out of a FieldEdge contract early?
It depends on your agreement. One owner reports a cancellation refused unless the remaining balance was paid. Leaving at the renewal date is usually the cheapest exit.
Does FieldEdge auto-renew?
One owner reports a yearly automatic renewal they did not expect. Check the renewal clause in your own agreement and set a reminder well before the notice deadline.
What is the best FieldEdge alternative for an HVAC company?
For small teams, Housecall Pro or Jobber cost less. For 10 to 40 techs paying several thousand dollars a month across tools, owning your own system usually costs less over three years because the bill stops growing with every hire.
